Emerging from my cocoon!

I have been 'away', away for sometime. Not that I intended to keep anyone in the dark, quite the contrary. I have been growing, in my cocoon, learning a thing or two about how life works.

For a long time I took my health for granted. I eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and I try - although I do not always succeed - to stay fit and flexible. Then I started developing some strange symptoms. My face spouted with strange pimples that were huge and ugly. The doctors were brilliant and did some skins tests. These soon passed - but the process of skin testing left my arm with an ugly and very visible scar. A few weeks later a little anthill popped on my left hand, between above my wrist. It just sat there, like an old quiet mate from another life! I did not want to be at another surgeons mercy so I avoided the doctors and woke up one day to find it no longer exists! Miracles do happen, after all.

The biggest lesson I learnt during that time was that doctors don't always know what is wrong with a patient. They may conduct scores of tests, mostly speculatively, even order drugs that won't benefit you. And I can assure you that there's nothing more depressing a doctor who can't figure out - after many expensive tests - what may be wrong with a patient. I say, take care of yourself and swallow a doctor's diagnosis with a pinch of salt, especially when your gut tells you that something may be amiss. Seek the opinion of a second even third doctor.
